Introduction

Anthony Sammut

Anthony had left his studies to start his career in the furniture industry in 1996, venturing into the project of being one of the foremost to sell Italian made products on the Maltese market. He gained experience in many tasks such as assembling furniture locally due to heavy importduties and levies at the time. In 1998, together with co founder & actual chairman Clement Gauci he started IdeaCasa. In the meantime he proceeded with his studies and obtained a diploma in Management from Henley Management College of London in 2005. In 2009, he ventured into Onepercent, a project conceived by him and driven by the knowledge that Malta was lacking a furniture supplier that specialized only in high quality products and his thorough knowledge of Italy and its furniture-producing industry.

Anthony was also instrumental in the start-up of various other furniture and furnishing stores in Malta. Since then he has been involved in various real estate projects and also holds the position of Chairman of the Malta Film Commission, an entity within the Ministry of Finance. Noel Pace

After working in a family timber business for over 20 years, Noel had the opportunity to diversify into the furniture and design sector which had always been his true passion. In 2003 he teamed up with Anthony working for a company specializing in medium level furniture which was a great experience as this company grew considerably over the years and Noel was there to assist in this process gaining experience in the day to day running of the business, management and dealing with clients from start to finish. In 2008 Anthony showed Noel his interest in venturing into the high end segment, made in Italy designer furniture and he jumped at the opportunity to start this new business right from its conception. Elaine Vella

Elaine studied at MCAST Art & Design and was certified in BTEC Foundation Studies & then certified in BTEC Higher National Diploma in 3D Design and interior. Due to her interest in fashion, she attended a part time course in fashion design. After her studies, Elaine’s first work experience was in Malta’s only luxury fashion store which helped develop her skills and service towards the high end clientele. She joined the onepercent team from start and her attitude and charm with clients is exceptional.
